Overview
The Evening check-in tracks crashes, symptoms, exertion, experiences, and medications.
You can enable or disable trackers as well as edit your symptoms and medications, and add notes for more detail. You can use 'previous answers' to save time.
You can edit a completed Evening check-in at any time by re-entering the check-in screen - this also applies to editing previous days' check-ins.
Symptoms can be compared in Trends to understand patterns and improve your pacing.
The check-in is used to determine your Morning Stability the following day.
Logging your symptoms each day is optional, but it helps the Morning Stability score algorithm get a clearer picture of your health. In this article, we’ll show you how to track your symptoms in the app during the Evening check-in.
Where can I find the Evening check-in?
It can be found on your Today screen. It can be edited at any time by re-entering the check-in screen.
What does the Evening check-in include?
The Evening check-in asks:
If you were in a crash today
Symptom severity at their worst today, on a scale of 0 to 3, for the symptoms you're tracking
Level of physical, mental, and emotional exertion
If you are menstruating
If you are experiencing an infection or illness
Whether or not you took medications
There’s also a space for you to add notes about your day, so you can include any additional context that might help in understanding your health trends.
Your symptom severity is pulled from the Evening check-in to determine the next day's Morning Stability score.
A crash is a period when symptoms or fatigue increase, often after physical, mental, or emotional exertion. You may know it as a "flare-up."
How do I edit/add trackers to the Evening check-in?
You can personalize your Evening check-ins by adding custom symptoms or trackers.
Simply go to Profile → Trackers to add new trackers or hide any that you don’t want to track daily anymore.
When should I track an infection?
It is important to track each new infection (Covid or non-Covid) in its early stages, when you first feel more unwell than usual. Sometimes symptoms can linger after an acute infection, making it hard to determine when to stop tracking.
Don’t worry too much about when you stop tracking a new infection. The fact that the infection was recorded around the time that symptoms started is the most important part.
I've missed my Evening check-in. Can I still complete it?
Yes, if you miss an Evening check-in, you can go back to complete it for any previous day. To complete a past Evening check-in:
Open the Visible app.
On the Today page, navigate to the day you need.
Tap on the Evening check-in area.
Add or modify your previous Evening check-in as needed.
Remember, the data you enter is used to track trends over time, so it's helpful to keep it as accurate as possible.
Can I change my Evening check-in after I've completed it?
Yes, you can edit today's or any other day's Evening check-in at any time. Simply navigate to the day you want to update on the Today page, and tap into the Evening check-in to start editing.
What if I have a different sleep schedule?
If you work nights or have a different sleep/wake cycle to normal, it's important you do the Morning check-in first every day. Completing the Evening check-in first means you can no longer complete the Morning check-in.
For example, if you wake up at 11pm on Thursday and go to bed at 1pm on Friday, you should do your Morning and Evening check-in on Thursday.
Days reset at 4am.
Tracking trends over time
Tracking symptoms in the Evening check-in is a key part of understanding your health, but it's important to note that how you rate symptom severity may change over time. This can make it difficult to accurately compare changes in symptoms from a few days, weeks, or even months ago.
That’s why Visible combines symptom data with biometric data and crash tracking to provide more precise, automated pacing guidance during your Morning check-in. In addition, the Monthly check-in offers a broader view of how your health affects your day-to-day functioning over time.
By looking beyond symptom tracking alone, Visible helps you pace your activity day to day while developing a clearer picture of your health over time.
All your Morning and Evening check-in data is available to view in Trends, where you can see patterns and compare trends across days, weeks, or months. See our Trends article to learn more.
