How to complete the Morning check-in

Find out how to complete your morning check-in.

The Morning check-in is available for both free users and members. Free users will use their finger and phone camera to measure their heart rate (HR) and heart rate variability (HRV), whereas members can use their band to take a reading.

We recommend completing the Morning check-in at the same time every day to maintain consistency.

What happens during the Morning check-in?

During the Morning check-in you will rate your sleep, then measure your HR and HRV using your phone's camera or band. You'll then receive a score from 1-5 indicating how stable you are, as well as a breakdown of each factor.

Completing the Morning check-in

Step 1: Rate your previous night's sleep

Your sleep information, along with your previous Evening check-in symptom scores, is used to generate your Morning Stability score.

Step 2: Measure your morning HR and HRV

Free users: You'll be asked to hold your finger against your camera, and your flash should turn on. You'll see a blue border appear when your finger is in the correct position. Hold it there until the timer runs out.

Members: Your band will switch to HRV mode. As you stay still, the circle will pulse, and you'll see your progress as a percentage as it measures your HR and HRV.

Common questions

Can I retake my Morning Stability score?

Yes, you can retake your Morning Stability score for today when using morning measurements. To get a new score, simply delete your morning reading and take a new one.

Before you delete a reading, it's important to know:

  • You can only redo your score for the current day. Past morning readings can not be retaken.

  • Once a morning reading is deleted, it cannot be restored.

  • Deleted scores are still included in your 90-day baseline.

  • Retakes should be reserved for special situations, such as if you were disturbed, moved around too much, or made a mistake during the check-in.

To redo your Morning Stability score for today:

  1. Open the app and tap Morning Stability on the Today page.

  2. Tap the three dots in the top right corner.

  3. Select Delete reading.

  4. You’ll now be able to complete the Morning check-in again.

Do I still need to use the camera for my morning measurement once I have a band?

No. Once your band is linked to the Visible app, the Morning check-in will automatically use the band to read your body’s biometrics each morning. You can still choose to use the camera instead if you want. There will be an option to switch to the camera right before you start your check-in.
