Overview
To sync heart rate data from your band in real time, keep the Visible app open and stay within Bluetooth range.
For reliable heart rate readings, make sure the band's sensor stays in contact with your skin. The band should feel snug but comfortable.
If you see any missing heart rate data or gaps in your data, follow our simple troubleshooting guidance, such as refreshing your heart rate graph.
How to maintain a strong connection between the band and smartphone
To keep your Visible Band 2.0 connected and syncing smoothly with your smartphone at all times, make sure to:
Keep the Visible app running in the background so your band can sync data continuously.
Keep your band close to your phone to stay within Bluetooth range (within 30 feet or 10 meters).
Only connect your Visible Band 2.0 to the Visible app. And only use the Visible app on one device. This helps avoid pairing conflicts.
Use the latest version of both the Visible app and your band’s firmware for the best performance.
For Android users: Make sure that your battery settings allow Visible to run in the background. To do this, follow these Android instructions.
How to check the band fit and sensor positioning
For the most reliable heart rate readings, always check the fit and placement of your band. It should feel snug but comfortable when worn on your wrist or arm, with the sensor staying in firm contact with your skin. A loose band can lead to data gaps or inaccurate heart rate readings.
Dark or densely patterned tattoos can also interfere with the optical heart rate sensor. For best results, wear your band on a lighter or untattooed area of your wrist or arm.
Using a wrist strap? Read out our guide to Wearing your band on the wrist for detailed sensor placement tips.
Understanding how the proximity sensor works
Visible Band 2.0 doesn’t have an on/off button. It uses a proximity sensor to detect when it’s being worn. This ensures it only reads a pulse when it's on your wrist or arm.
To prevent false heart rate readings when you're not wearing your band:
Avoid storing your band with the sensor face down.
Check that the sensor is turned off. Only the central LED light should be on when the sensor is off the body.

Troubleshooting gaps in heart rate data
If you've been wearing your band throughout the day while pacing, but notice gaps or missing heart rate data in your Heart Rate chart, some simple troubleshooting can often resolve the issue. Here's how:
Step 1: Refresh your data
Go to the Heart Rate page.
Tap and hold under +Tag activity or your activity tags.
Drag downwards until a loading circle appears.
This forces a manual re-sync and often resolves gaps. Please be patient if there's a lot of missing data; it can take a few minutes to sync.
Step 2: Disconnect and reconnect your band
If the manual refresh hasn't helped, try reconnecting your band as follows:
1) Disconnect your band from the Visible app
Tap the band icon in the top right corner of the Today page.
Then tap Unpair band to disconnect.
2) Force stop the Visible app
For iPhone users: Force close the Visible app.
Swipe up from the bottom edge of your screen (Face ID) or double-click the home button.
Swipe left or right through the app preview screens to find the Visible app.
Swipe up on the app's preview to close it
For Android users: Force stop the Visible app.
Go to System Settings → Applications → Visible and press Force Stop
3) Reconnect your band in the Visible app
Wait a few seconds, then reopen the Visible app.
Tap Pair your band on the Today page.
Select your Visible Band 2.0 to reconnect.
Step 3: Check your battery level
When your band's battery gets very low, some features may not work reliably. If you notice performance or data syncing issues and your battery is low, charge your band as soon as possible. We recommend recharging your band when the battery reaches around 5-10%.

Frequently asked questions
Can I delete heart rate readings?
No, you can't delete heart rate readings from your Heart Rate chart or remove PacePoints from your daily total. Once your band syncs heart rate data with the app, it stays in your account.
If you spot any incorrect data, use activity tags to label it. This helps keep records clear.
Do I need to keep my band connected to my phone at all times?
Your band connects to your phone via Bluetooth, which works up to about 30 feet (10 meters). To keep your data synced and get real-time pacing notifications, you need to stay within range and have the Visible app open or running in the background.
If you move out of range for a short time, your band will save your data and sync when it reconnects.
Can I wear my Visible Band 2.0 on either wrist or arm?
Yes, you can wear your band on either your left or right wrist or arm. If you change where you're wearing it, you'll need to update your Band location in your account settings:
1. Open the Visible app.
2. Go to the Profile page.
3. Tap on My account at the top of the page.
4. Tap on Band location at the bottom of the page.
5. Change the band location and tap Save.
Updating your band location informs our algorithms, which is important for accurate readings.
How can I check for Visible app updates?
To check for Visible app updates, go to the App Store or Play Store on your phone and tap Update if available. Keeping your app updated ensures you'll always have the latest features and improvements.
How can I check for band firmware updates?
Firmware updates often include performance improvements or bug fixes, all designed to improve the quality of your experience. To check if a new band firmware version is available:
Connect your band to the Visible app (make sure it has at least 50% battery).
Go to Profile → About → Troubleshooting → Band Firmware Update.
If a new firmware version is available, follow the prompts to install.
