Where can I wear Visible Band 2.0?
Visible Band 2.0 now comes with a wrist strap. If you'd prefer, you can wear your band on your upper arm or forearm (just below the elbow) using our dedicated arm strap.
Arm straps, XL arm straps, and wrist straps can be purchased from the Visible Shop after activating your membership.
💡 If you change where you wear your band, make sure to update your band location in the app. See How do I let Visible know where I'm wearing my band? for step-by-step instructions.
Deciding where to wear your band
Visible Band 2.0 is validated to give reliable data in both the upper arm and wrist locations. So it's up to you which works best for your lifestyle and comfort.
If you have Early access to sleep tracking, wearing your band on your wrist improves sleep detection by capturing wrist movement, making it more effective at detecting wake times and nighttime awakenings.
Tips for wearing your band
Always check the fit and placement of your band. It should feel snug but comfortable when worn on your wrist or arm, with the sensor staying in firm contact with your skin.
Dark or densely patterned tattoos can interfere with the optical heart rate sensor. For best results, wear your band on a lighter or untattooed area of your wrist or arm.
Clean your sensor and strap regularly with lukewarm water and gentle soap, and hang the band strap to dry. Thoroughly dry the sensor before putting it back on your skin or charging.
If you are changing your band location often, it can help to force close your app so your band knows not to collect data during that time.
Moving your band around can help with skin sensitivities and hygiene.
How to wear your Visible Band 2.0 on the wrist
Follow these steps to make sure the wrist strap is positioned correctly and comfortably on your wrist:
Wear your band on the top of your wrist like a watch, at least a finger's width away from the wrist bone.
Orient the band so that the charging pins on the back of the sensor are closer to your thumb than your little finger:
The band should fit snugly and comfortably on your wrist. The sensor should be in direct contact with your skin without slipping or moving around when you move your arm.
A good way to check that the band is not too loose is to push the band lightly up from both sides of your arm and make sure the sensor doesn’t lift from your skin. When pushing the band up, you shouldn't see the LED light shining from the sensor.
⚠️ Important: Please use only the official Visible wrist strap with your band. We’ve received reports of sensor damage caused by non-standard straps. Unfortunately, we cannot offer replacements for bands damaged by using these straps.
How to wear your Visible Band 2.0 on the arm
Wear the band with the sensor on the outside of your upper arm, with the sensor lights flush against your skin. It's important to make sure the band is snug but not overly tight, and that the sensor doesn't shift or lift off your skin when you move around.
You can also wear the band on your lower arm, just below the elbow. This can help if your upper arm is tattooed, the band is too tight on your upper arm, or you dislike the upper arm placement for sensory or aesthetic reasons.
Use a dedicated Visible 2.0 arm strap or XL arm strap when wearing the band on your upper arm.
To adjust the size of your arm strap, please see this How to: Adjust arm strap YouTube video tutorial.

Frequently asked questions
Can I request a different strap for my Visible Band 2.0 when purchasing my membership?
No, all Starter Kits now come with a wrist strap by default. It is not possible to add-on accessories when purchasing your new membership and Visible Starter Kit. However, you can purchase alternative straps from our Visible Shop after you have activated your membership.
Can I purchase an extra or second strap?
Yes, you can purchase spare Visible Band 2.0 wrist, arm, and XL arm straps directly in the Visible app. Please go to Profile → Visible Shop for more information.
To change your Visible Band 2.0 strap, simply remove the sensor from your current strap and attach it to the new one. If you move your sensor from a wrist strap to an arm strap (or vice versa), make sure to update your band location in the app as well.
Are there any tips for wearing the Visible Band 2.0 with tattoos?
Tattoos, especially dark or densely patterned ones, may affect the accuracy of the optical heart rate sensor by interfering with light transmission. For the best results, try wearing your band on an area of skin without tattoos, or experiment with different positions on your wrist or arm to find the most reliable placement.
Is Visible Band 2.0 waterproof?
Yes, the band's sensor is waterproof and safe to wear while showering, bathing, or swimming. Just make sure to thoroughly dry the sensor before wearing or charging. If your band gets exposed to saltwater, ensure the charging pins are clean to prevent buildup.
Can I wear my Visible Band 2.0 in the steam room or sauna?
The operating temperature range of Visible Band 2.0 is between 14°F and 120°F (-10°C to 50°C). Saunas and steam rooms can reach temperatures near or above this range, which may affect your band's performance. To protect your band, we recommend removing your Visible Band 2.0 before entering a sauna or steam room.
Are there any PFAs in contact with the skin with Visible Band 2.0?
There are no PFAs in contact with the skin in Visible Band 2.0.
I have EMF sensitivities. Can I use Visible?
The Visible Band 2.0 uses Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), specifically BLE ANT version 2.0. The band connects to your phone via Bluetooth to sync data when the Visible app is open and running in the background, which is needed to maintain connectivity between the band and app.
If you have EMF sensitivities, especially if you’ve experienced discomfort when wearing other Bluetooth devices or wearables, Visible may not be a good fit. A Visible membership with Visible Band 2.0 requires regular Bluetooth communication between the band and your phone to work well.
