Activity Tags are designed to help you keep track of the different activities you do throughout your day. The primary benefit of tagging is to understand the how much energy, or how many PacePoints, your daily activities take up. This can help you to plan your day better, prioritize tasks and pace yourself to stay within your energy budget.

How to Use Activity Tags

  1. Tag activities broadly: It's best to use more general tags like "Cooking dinner" instead of specific ones like "Cooking spaghetti bolognese". This helps in comparing energy expenditure across similar activities.

  2. Consistency counts: Stick with the same tags for repeated activities. This consistency will help you to track changes and spot patterns in those activities over time.

  3. Keep things manageable: There's no need to tag every single thing you do. A good place to start is to tag activities that push you into over-exertion.

Making the most of your tags

To get the best out of Activity Tags, remember to:

  • Tag activities soon after they happen to maintain accuracy.

  • Use Activity Insights to make informed decisions about how you spend your time. For example, once you know how many PacePoints your activities take up, you can better plan and prioritise those activities to stay within your energy budget.

The goal of using Activity Tags is not to micro-manage every minute of your day, but to improve your understanding of where you're spending your energy. With this knowledge, you'll be able to pace yourself better.
