Overview
The Activity Monitor shows the intensity of an activity in real time.
Once you start an activity using the Activity Monitor, it takes over your screen. It displays your live heart rate, current heart rate zone, and a timer.
It's designed for time-limited, physically demanding activities like a walk or a shower, when seeing your heart rate makes it easier to understand when to rest and when to keep going.
To use the Activity Monitor, go to the Heart Rate page and tap Start activity.
The Activity Monitor shows your live heart rate during an activity
Some members use real-time heart rate alongside how they're feeling to pace safely. It helps them to decide when to keep going and when to pause or stop.
The Activity Monitor gives you a large, clear view of your heart rate that's easy to read whether you're moving around or your phone is propped up nearby.
When you start an activity using the Activity Monitor, you'll see:
Your live heart rate on a round dial.
Your current zone: Rest, Activity, or Exertion.
A graph of the heart rate zones you've moved through in the last minute during your activity.
A timer showing how long you've been doing your activity.
Use it for time-limited, physically demanding activities
The Activity Monitor is there for moments during an activity when seeing your heart rate helps you pace better. For example, you might use the Activity Monitor while:
On a walk or taking the stairs, so you know when to pause for a break before continuing.
Taking a shower to help you decide, for example, whether today is the day to wash your hair.
Standing to prepare a meal, so you feel more able to notice when to keep going and when to sit down.
The Activity Monitor is there for when you need it. It is not something you need to watch all the time.
Some members find it gives too much information. They prefer not to focus on numbers during an activity. Notice how using the Activity Monitor feels for you.

Open the Visible app.
Go to the Today page.
Tap on your live heart rate to open the Heart Rate page.
Tap Start activity underneath your heart rate chart.
Tag the activity you're about to do.
Choose how long your activity will last. You can pick 10, 30, or 60 minutes. If you do not choose a length, your activity will be set to 30 minutes.
The first time you open the Activity Monitor, you'll see a short intro explaining how it works and how to get the most from it.
During your activity, keep the Activity Monitor on your screen
Once you start an activity, the Activity Monitor will stay on your screen automatically until it ends. Avoid manually locking your phone or closing the app while the Activity Monitor is running. Also, keep your phone close by during your activity. To track your live heart rate, the band must stay connected.
When an activity ends, you can save or discard it
Your activity ends when your timer is up or you stop it manually before then by tapping Finish. You can then choose to save or discard the activity.
If you save the activity, it appears on your Heart Rate chart with its PacePoints, just like any other tagged activity. You can also find it in your Activity insights, where you can compare its impact and intensity over time.
