Overview
This is for you if you have the free Visible app.
Complete your Morning Check-in by taking a morning reading with your phone’s camera.
Visible will use your reading to calculate your Stability Score.
It’s best to take the readings at the same time each day, while in a comfortable position.
You’ll need to stay still for 1 minute during the reading.
To get your Stability Score by taking a morning reading from your phone
Tap the button on the Today page to rate your sleep.
Place your finger lightly over the camera lens. The flash should turn on. You'll see a blue border appear when your finger is in the correct position. The image on your screen should be red.
Keep your finger on the lens and hold it there until the timer runs out. Stay still during the full 1 minute measurement.
Get your Stability Score when the measurement is complete.
Tips for a successful morning reading with your phone’s camera
To get consistent readings:
Check your internet connection. You need a stable connection, or the reading may not start or complete.
Make sure there's enough light. The camera needs to see your finger clearly. If it's too dark, a secondary light such as a bright lamp can help.
Take your reading as soon as you wake up. Ideally, do it before you get out of bed so it captures your true resting heart rate.
Lie down comfortably. This is usually the most reliable position, especially if you're sensitive to changes in posture.
Stay still and relaxed. Movement can be mistaken for changes in your heartbeat and affect your result.
Warm up cold fingers. Cold fingers have reduced blood flow, which can lower the quality of your reading.
Be consistent. Take your reading at a similar time and in the same position each day so your results are easier to compare.
Whatever your routine looks like, just try to stick to it as best you can. It's still valuable to do your Morning check-in whenever and however you can.
Choosing the right camera lens
Place your finger lightly over the camera lens. Make sure you’re not covering the flash or the torch, which can get hot over time. Before the measurement starts, you will see the image from the relevant lens on your phone's screen.
If the image is bright red, you are good to go.
If the screen shows your surroundings, your finger is on the wrong lens.
If you are not sure, try putting your finger on each camera lens one by one until you see a red circle.

How does taking readings with a camera work?
Visible measures your heart rate (HR) and heart rate variability (HRV) using photoplethysmography (PPG), an optical method that detects tiny changes in blood volume in your tissues, such as your fingertip.
Each time your heart beats, the volume of blood in your arteries and capillaries changes slightly. This alters how much light your skin absorbs and reflects, creating subtle shifts in skin color.
Visible measures these changes in reflected light to detect your heart rate and the exact timing between each beat. It then uses those intervals to calculate your HR and HRV.
Are morning measurements reliable?
Measuring your heart rate (HR) and heart rate variability (HRV) in the morning is a reliable alternative to track changes in your body's signals over time.
Taking your morning reading before getting out of bed means you get as close to a resting HR as possible. HRV is also a particularly sensitive metric, so it's important to measure it in a calm, repeatable environment each day.
What can I do if my Stability Score reading gets stuck at 95%?
What can I do if my Stability Score reading gets stuck at 95%?
If your Stability Score stops at about 95% and fails to complete, it can indicate an issue with your internet connection or that there was too much movement during the reading. Always start the reading on a strong and stable internet connection. If you're using a WiFi connection, try switching to mobile data or vice versa to see if that helps.
Can I retake my Stability Score if needed?
Can I retake my Stability Score if needed?
Yes, you can retake your Stability Score for today when using morning measurements. To get a new score, simply delete your morning reading and take a new one.
Before you delete a reading, it's important to know:
You can only redo your score for the current day. Past morning readings can not be retaken.
Once a morning reading is deleted, it cannot be restored.
Deleted scores are still included in your 90-day baseline.
Retakes should be reserved for special situations, such as if you were disturbed, moved around too much, or made a mistake during the check-in.
To redo your Stability Score for today:
Open the app and tap Stability on the Today page.
Tap the three dots in the top right corner.
Select Delete reading.
You’ll now be able to complete the Morning Check-in again.
