Checking or changing your Stability preferences

Choose how to get your Stability Score with Visible Band 2.0

Overview

  • This is for you if you have Visible Band 2.0.

  • You can choose to get your Stability Score using overnight data from your band, or by taking a morning reading.

  • Visit Profile → Stability in the app to check or change your preferences

Choose how to get your Stability Score if you have Visible Band 2.0

Visible Band 2.0 is designed to be worn day and night. By default, your Morning Check-in uses overnight data from your band.

If you prefer, you can choose to get your Stability Score by taking a morning reading instead.

To check or change your Stability preferences:

  1. Go to Profile → Stability in the app.

  2. Select either Use my overnight data, or Take a morning reading.

Deciding how to get your Stability Score

The simplest way to decide how to get your Stability Score is to think about whether you can wear your band to bed consistently most nights.

  • If you can wear your band consistently overnight, use overnight data.

  • If you don't wear your band to bed at night, take a morning reading.

You may need to build a new baseline after you switch

Your Stability Score compares your resting heart rate and heart rate variability to your baseline. This is your normal range, based on up to 90 days of your previous data.

Because overnight data and morning readings are measured differently, each has its own baseline:

  • Overnight data is compared to an overnight baseline

  • Morning readings are compared to a morning baseline

If you switch and don’t have enough recent data for your new choice, you’ll need to build a new baseline.

For example, if you switch to overnight data and haven't worn your band to bed at night in the past 90 days, you'll need to build a new baseline. If this happens, you'll see a message in the Visible app explaining this.

You can keep comparing your Stability Score over time

Overnight data and morning readings are measured differently. If you change how you get your Stability Score, your resting heart rate and heart rate variability will likely look different too because of how they are measured. This is normal.

The Stability algorithm is designed so you can keep comparing your scores over time, no matter which option you choose.

Overnight and morning data are labeled separately

Overnight and morning data are shown separately across the app, for example, on the Trends page and in the Health Report PDF.

Your resting heart rate (HR) and heart rate variability (HRV) are labeled by when they were measured:

  • Overnight Resting HR and Overnight HRV

  • Morning Resting HR and Morning HRV
