When you buy Visible, it comes with the Visible Band 2.0 by default. This is a screenless wrist strap with an always-on heart rate monitor.
You can start wearing your band as soon as it’s charged. If you are able to, it’s best to wear your band day and night. When you wear it overnight it will record your data while you sleep. The more that Visible understands about your body, the more useful it will become.
Wear your wrist strap like a watch
You can wear your wrist strap on your left or right wrist. Although it’s not essential, wearing it on your non-dominant wrist may reduce noise from daily activities, like writing, or picking things up.
Orient the strap so the charging pins on the back of the sensor are closer to your thumb than your little finger. The LED lights should be on the underside of the band and rest firmly against your skin.
The strap should sit at least a finger's width above your wrist bone and feel snug but comfortable.
Your band is fitting well if:
it stays in place when you shake your arm
you can only just slide a finger beneath it
there is no green light escaping from the underside of the sensor
it leaves a very faint outline or light indent on your skin when you take it off - if it leaves a deep indent or a red mark, it’s too tight
The strap is adjustable
View the short YouTube video tutorial to see how to thread the strap onto your sensor and adjust the size of your wrist strap.
Visible Band 2.0 is waterproof
The band's sensor is waterproof and safe to wear while showering, bathing or swimming. Thoroughly dry the sensor before wearing or charging it. If the sensor is exposed to saltwater, ensure the charging pins are clean before you put it back on. Find out more about caring for your band.
It’s best to remove your band in a steamroom or sauna
The operating temperature range of Visible Band 2.0 is between 14°F and 120°F (-10°C to 50°C). Saunas and steam rooms can reach temperatures near or above this range, which may affect your band's performance. To protect your band, we recommend removing your Visible Band 2.0 before entering a sauna or steam room.
Tattoos may affect the sensor’s performance
Tattoos, especially dark or densely patterned ones, may affect the accuracy of the optical heart rate sensor. For the best results, try wearing your band on an area of skin without tattoos, or experiment with different positions on your wrist or arm to find the most reliable placement.
